Registration Policy

Registration for Kingston Cooking Studio is confirmed only once the online registration form is completed, the Terms & Conditions have been accepted, and payment has been received. Kingston Cooking Studio reserves the right to refuse any registration for any reason; in such cases, we will fully refund any payment made. All decisions are final.

Cancellation Policy

• Full refund minus a $15 administration fee up to 30 days before the start of the class or session.

• 30% of the total cost becomes non‑refundable 29–7 days before the start date.

• 50% becomes non‑refundable 6–1 days before the start date.

• The full amount becomes non‑refundable on the day the class begins.

• No refunds for missed classes or unused days.

Program Participation

I authorize my child to participate in all cooking activities offered by Kingston Cooking Studio, including hands‑on food preparation, use of kitchen tools, and participation in any off‑site food‑related outings. I understand that these activities carry an inherent risk of injury that my child might sustain. I understand that some activities may take place in rented kitchen facilities or partner locations within Kingston.

Kitchen Safety & Conduct

I understand that the Participant must follow all safety instructions provided by instructors, including proper handling of knives, heat sources, appliances, and food. Unsafe or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the program without refund. I agree that my child is developmentally ready to participate in cooking classes that include hands-on learning and require following instructions and safety rules. I understand that the Studio may decide that my child is not ready to partake in the program. The decision on these matters is solely at the discretion of Kingston Cooking Studio and is final.

I understand that the Participant is required to wear closed-toe footwear such as sneakers or boots for safety purposes. I understand that the failure to wear appropriate footwear will result in the Participant being unable to participate in the program.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Kingston Cooking Studio maintains a zero‑tolerance policy for aggressive, violent, or disrespectful behaviour from parents/guardians or participants toward staff or participants. This behaviour includes, but is not limited to: swearing, yelling, bullying, physical aggression, threats of any kind. Such behaviour will result in immediate removal from the program without refund. Decisions are final.

Food Allergies & Dietary Restrictions

I understand that Kingston Cooking Studio is unable to accommodate all allergies and substitutions of ingredients might not be available. Due to the nature of cooking activities, exposure to allergens may occur either airborne or via ingestion. I accept that the studio cannot guarantee an allergen‑free environment.

Lice Policy

Participants may not attend class with lice. If lice are detected, the participant will be sent home and may return only after successful treatment. No refunds for missed classes.

Medical Authorization

By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions, I authorize Kingston Cooking Studio staff to administer first aid if necessary. If required, I authorize transportation to a medical facility and treatment by a physician after reasonable attempts to reach emergency contacts. I agree to reimburse the studio for any emergency expenses incurred on behalf of my child.

EpiPen Authorization

If my child requires an EpiPen, I agree to provide one. I understand that the studio doesn’t carry EpiPens and that my failure to provide one may result in temporary removal from the program until the EpiPen is provided.

Lost Items

Kingston Cooking Studio is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items.

Photos & Videos

I authorize Kingston Cooking Studio to photograph or film my child during classes for promotional purposes (print, online, social media, etc.). All materials remain the property of Kingston Cooking Studio.

Communication

By registering, I agree to receive informational and promotional emails. I may unsubscribe at any time.

Pick‑Up Authorization

Only individuals listed on the registration form may pick up the Participant. I understand that the Participant will not be released to any person not listed on the form, even though they recognize that person as a parent, family member, friend or similar. Staff will request government‑issued ID from any person picking up. Failure to provide a government-issued ID will result in a delay during pick-up.

Late Pick‑Up Fees

I agree to pay a late fee of $10 if picking up after the scheduled end time. Fees must be paid directly to staff.

Jurisdiction

The laws of Ontario, Canada govern all matters arising from this agreement. I consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of Ontario courts.
